Judo is a Martial Art, sport, a conditioning process – more importantly, a way of life. Judo increases self-esteem, respect, and self-discipline.
Judo is the most widely practiced martial art and according to the College of Sports Medicine the safest contact sport for children under 13. Judo classes at Third Heaven Martial Arts offers training for competition and self-defense. Our Judo program is available for students age 6 and up.
Wisconsin Judo
Third Heaven Martial Arts is proud to offer the only Judo program in Dodge County and the surrounding areas. Judo is an Olympic sport with an emphasis on throws and grappling. Judo at Third Heaven Martial Arts is coached by highly experienced black belt instructors.

Judo Credentials
(Supervising Instructor)- a fifth (5th) degree Black Belt certified by USA Judo – the certification body for the United States Olympic Committee (USOC). Sensei Jerry began Judo in high school where Judo was a letter sport. Sensei Cypert, an International Level Coach, and Vision Impaired Coach. Sensei Jerry has coached at the USJF Junior National Championships, AM-CAN International Judo Challenge, National Scholastics Championships, Junior Olympics International Championships, and the US Open. Sensei Cypert is a National level Referee wtih IPSI Certification, and has refereed throughout the US.
(Head Instructor)-a Second (2nd) degree Black Belt certified by USA Judo. Sensei Darlene started Judo in 2000. Sensei Darlene is the business manager of Hogosha Judo llc and the lead coach for: local, state and regional tournaments. She is a National Level Coach.
(Associate Instructor) – a Third (3rd) degree Black Belt certified by USA Judo. Sensei Josh is a National Level Coach, National Referee, an IPSI certified Coach, and Referee.
Sensei Josh, a national competitor, has competed at the following higher level events: USJF Junior National Championships, AM-CAN International Judo Challenge, National Scholastics Championships, Junior Olympics International Championships, and the US Open.
Sensei Josh (with his brother Mike) captured a Bronze at the USJF Junior National Kata Championships and the medal was presented by Keiko Fukuda Sensei.
Josh is a currently a senior at UW-Whitewater, where he is majoring in Criminal Justice and Public Safety and a member of ROTC. Sensei Josh plans to enter the ARMY after graduation. Sensei Josh is also the Judo instructor at Elkhorn Flying Dragons in Elkhorn, WI
(Asst. Instructor) – a Second (2nd) degree Black Belt certified by USA Judo. Sensei Mike is a National Level Coach and Regional Referee.

Mike is a 2015 Graduate of UW – Madison, where he earned his Bachelor Degree (double major) in East Asian Studies, Chinese and Criminal Justice. Mike is a Certified Law Enforcement Officer.
